The Phantom Undergoes Revolution

The Phantom is edited and ready to go! I put it out on the page, and now that it's edited, you guys don't have to struggle through the terrible spelling ability on my iPad anymore! (Hooray, I guess?)  I also wrote a little more.  Please note that there are some parts that i haven't written yet--meaning that I bascially made a cut scene and moved on because I didn't feel like writing it at the precise moment.  That being said, those places are the supper with Caspian's family on New Year's night, and the part where Dill takes Caspian back home with the horses lugging that rosewood chair.

If you haven't read The Phantom, please do! It's such a ncie story and Caspian is real good-looking, too ;) The cover was released a few days back.  And now that it's edited, it's easier to read then ever! (the story, not the cover.)

I Finished the Marathon!

I finished my Jessica Day George reading marathon! Over the course of these few days, I've marched my way through over 1500 pages of this fantastic author.  Now I'm jsut waiting for Princess of the Silver Woods to come in from the public library! Please, COME TO ME :)  If you haven't read any of Jessica Day George's books, I recommend her, and recommend starting with Dragon Slippers-->Dragon Flight--> Dragon Spear.  Then continue on to the Princesses: Princess of the Midnight Ball-->Princess of Glass--> Princess of the Silver Woods. Then read Tuesdays at the Castle for a little leisure, something a little more juvenile.  Then you can start on Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow, which is probably her most mature of these fantasy books. I've read all of them (except for Princess of the Silver Woods, which I'm waiting on), and thye're all fantastic! Though Princess of Glass had a disappointing ending to a fantastic storyline...

List Story Pager

The List Story Half-Page thing is done! It actually ended up being over a page and a half, but msotly because of the clipped dialogue. Please read it! It's HILARIOUS. Even I laughed when I read the part about Big Lip Girl. XD I guarentee you'll find it HILARIOUS and absolutely silly :') Now I can't decide whether this or the Lawrence Story is funnier. Haha! Anyway, I put it up, and please read!!!! Now I'm working on Lilette/Riswynn and Mermaid.

Lost Portrait Revived

So I FINALLY got the thing to work, and my other picture is up. Tada! :)

Whoops, huge again.  These things never change. Please zoom out so it's not as grainy. ^^ That's Seren's sister. She doesn't have a name yet. (Any suggestions?) And if you were wondering, she's royal, so that's why she looks kinda funny.  For some reason she reminds me of anotehr picture I drew, one of Nefertiti...

Oh, dear, she's even bigger than Seren's sister. I drew Nefertiti a few weeks back, and I have to say I'm starting to fall in love with the way I drew her and Seren's sister's eyes.  They do have a certain Egyptian quality, do they not? Ever since I read Sphinx's Princess and Sphinx's Queen by Esther Friesner, I've been more and more influenced by the beauty of Egyptian-Mitanni women.

Anyway, Nefertiti isn't part of Lost, but I thought you might like to see her just the same. :) If you have any ideas for Seren's sister's name, please feel free to share. I put the pictures in the picture gallery and on the Lost page.

The Half-Page Rule

I'm starting a new thing to stir some of my old stories back up and keep them going: the Half-Page Rule!  For the days that i have time, I'm going to go through each story and write a half page or more, and then move on, so I'll be in a big cycle.  I kept it at half a page so I can still focus on Shadow Kingdom, but unfortunately I've reached some writer's block. Whoops. Get out of the way, writer's block!

I jsut came up with this theory, and sadly haven't had much of what you would call progress. I just did my Death train and I'm working on Mermaid (which will have to be postponed to tomorrow.)

The Death Train has been posted on its page. Please read it! I love this story, even though it still awakes my old nightmare.

On a different note, I just finished Princess of Glass in my Jessica Day George reading marathon. (Yeah, I know, I read fast.) Time to start on Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow. :)

Lost Portraits

And when I say that, I don't mean that I have misplaced some paintings! Only two portraits, sorry guys.  So I was in class today, and the professors blabbing and all that, so i got bored and decided to doodle a bit on some notecards. In the end I drew some of the characters from Lost. I scanned them in.... They're pretty good...here goes.

Eeeeep. Someone is really big!  Anyway, that's Seren.  If you've taken a look at the half-finished Seren and James picture, you'll probably see that they don't look alike....or at least not very alike.  The picture of Seren and James is right after they left Mitanni (which you are completely ignorant of), and THIS one up here is of Seren a few months after she joined the ship crew. (I haven't named the ship yet. Whoops.)  I haven't drawn Seren when she was in Mitanni and before she left, but I'll probably get around to it.

     As for the other picture....okay.....wait....

Dangit. The stupid site is acting up again and I can't upload Seren's sister at the moment. I'll try and get it up. Sorry :

Birthday Error

Sorry for not saying anything sooner, guys. I've been so busy lately....but now I'm on spring break! Yaaaayy! So (hopefully) I can spend a little more time on my beloved site and less at the desk studying for final exams.  Anyway, some of you seem to have gotten my birthday wrong. My birthday is in October. (raises eyebrow) I read the comments and I was like "Huh?" for a moment. Anyway, thanks for trying, guys. ;)

I haven't gotten any more out of Shadow Kingdom for over a week now. Oops.  I'm on a Jessica Day George reading marathon and in the past two days have worked my way through four books. I just finished one of the latter, Princess of the Midnight Ball. It's kind of like Entwined, but in my opinion, not quite as good in quality. Still, a worthy try. Next I'm tackling Princess of Glass, then Sun and MoonIce and Snow, and I'll be done with my marathon. So far I've gotten through Dragon Slippers (that was actually a few years back when I didn't know there was a sequel), Dragon Flight, Dragon Spear, Tuesdays at the Castle, and Princess of the Midnight Ball just recently. Talk about a lot of stuff! I was dead over the weekend. And jsut earlier I had to go to the radiologists to get a heart scan to see if I have acid reflux....or heartburn...or cancer....but it all turned out fine, nothing wrong. Tomorrow I'm getting a REG scan or something of the sort, and the day after I'm getting blood work for hemoglobin and mops (it actually isn't mops, just I can't remember the name).  Gulp.  Last time they drew a half pint of blood, I threw up. Needless to say I'm a squeamish person.

Anyhow, enough of my complaints. I'd better get writing!

Lost Cast Update

ME came up with a new person: Elise.  Elise is Violet's identical twin.  And I sorted another thing out: MarviN is the cat and MarviS is the person. No updates, yet.  Gosh, I'd better write some Shadow Kingdom.

Fractals: Calc

Ever heard of a fractal? The most common one is called the Mandelbrot. To explain it, a fractal is a calculus mathematical expression that is a figure.  If you zoom in close enough on any point in that figure, you'll find that that exact same figure makes up that point.  And it you zoom in on any exact point of that figure, it's the same figure! To put it simply, let's say I take a picture of you and make an infinite amount of copies of this photo.  Then I use these photos to make one big photo of you that's EXACTLY the same. You can zoom in on a fractal forever and find the same figure, over and over and over.  It never stops. Think of it as a graphical representation of calculus meets infinity.  Cool, eh?

I discovered fractals a few months ago but only decided to share it now. (No reason why I held back, by the way.)  And what's cooler, a few weeks ago, I found a program taht actually lets you create your own fractals! (Mine is not a Mandelbrot, by the way.) If you want to see some Mandelbrot fractals, search it on YouTube: Mandelbrot fractal zoom.  They're supercool.  Anyway, so I made my own fractal. For some reason mine always turn out looking like trees. *scratches head* Anyway, here goes.

I am so sorry that they're this huge.  But hey, can you see the pattern appear again and again? Believe it or not, this pattern of my trees is going on forever!!!! (MWAHAHAHAHA)

If you want to try making your own, visit recursivedrawing.com and listen to the tutorial first. Then have fun!!

Anticlimactic Stuff

Remember how worked up I got over those covers a few days ago? Well, I didn't save all the pictures I'd found online, so all my research is gone :'( tear. On the upside, I found a great picture and made the cover for The Phantom.  If you haven't read that story, do. It's so great! I personally like it very much, even though since i wrote it on my iPad the spellcheck is TERRIBLE.  Anyway, here's the cover:

Isn't he good-looking? I like him ALMOST as much as Cade from Ariana Story. Speaking of which, that picture of Seren and James is almost done, too. :) I also put this picture on the Phantom's page.
